These delicious fudgsicles will make you feel nostalgic for the chocolatey frozen pops we had as kids, but with zero of the guilt! Made with only six simple, whole food ingredients, these fudgy treats are packed full of powerhouse foods that not only taste great, but are amazing for your health! Take a look at the superfoods that these fudgsicles are loaded with:

  • Coconut Milk & Coconut Cream – Coconut is full of healthy fats, which help satisfy you  longer, making it a great food for people trying to lose weight. Coconuts are also antioxidant-rich and help fight off free-radicals in the body. The healthy fats in coconut are also great for encouraging supple, glowy skin!
  • Medjool Dates – Dates are rich in B vitamins and full of healthy dietary fiber. They are also low on the glycemic index, so they won’t spike your blood sugar like some processed sugars will. The B vitamins and low glycemic index make dates a great choice for people who suffer from tiredness and fatigue, as they will support natural energy without the crash of sugar or caffeine.
  • Raw, cacao powder – Cacao is a true superfood, packing in a lot of nutritional benefits in a tiny package. Unlike processed chocolate or cocoa powders that are full of sugars and other additives, raw cacao in its purest form retains all of its numerous healthy properties, such as being high in antioxidants, as well as being a  great source of magnesium and calcium, which are important for bone and brain function. It can even help promote feelings of bliss, due to the four mood-boosting neurotransmitters it contains, serotonin, tryptophan, tyrosine, and phenylethylamine.
  • Grass-fed collagen peptides – This superfood has really made a name for itself in recent years due to all of its health benefits. Studies have shown that incorporating collagen peptides, also known as hydrolyzed collagen, into your diet regularly may help improve joint health, increase bone density, help build lean muscle mass and aid in weight loss. Collagen is another one of my favorite supplements for supporting a healthy, glowing complexion! There are a lot of different collagen options out there and I have tried many of them, but my favorite is by Perfect Supplements. It is the highest quality collagen that I have been able to find and I prefer it over brands like Vital Proteins. It is also the world’s first certified glyphosate-free collagen on the market by The Detox Project. Use code GLOWING10 to receive 10% off your order at Perfect Supplements. This ingredient can be omitted if you are making these vegan.

So even though these treats are a great way to cool off in the warmer months, you may choose to enjoy them all year due to all of the nutrient-dense goodness packed inside of them!

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients

Add all of your ingredients to your blender or food processor. Make sure all of the dates have had the pits removed, either by you or they came already pitted. If you soaked your dates, make sure you remove any excess soaking liquid and just add the dates.

Blend everything together until combined, and it has a smooth and creamy consistency. It will be a little on the thicker side, but trust me, this is what you want!

  2. Add mixture to popsicle molds

Pour or scoop the fudgsicle mixture into your popsicle molds. I have silicone molds and they are easy to use and easy to clean, but any molds will work just fine. With this recipe and the size and number of my popsicle molds, I usually have some mixture left over that I will save in a mason jar in the refrigerator. Then, as the popsicles get eaten, I can just refill the molds and have more ready to go!

  3. Freeze

These pops will need a minimum of 2 hours freezing time, but I generally like to let mine go a little longer, just so they are a bit easier to get out of the molds. Times may vary depending on the size and capacity of your freezer, and where they are placed in the freezer as well.

  4. Savor and Enjoy!

Once your pops are frozen, they are best enjoyed as soon as you remove them from the molds. And if your household is like mine, these pops are not just for the kids! I love that we can all feel really good about eating these!
